The We’ve all heard of the famous phrase, “find yourself”. We’re bound to find new things about ourselves everyday. Let’s be real, though. Are we really going to look for who we already are? There’s no purpose in searching for who you are. You know what you like, and you know what you believe in. That’s simply human nature. While we learn things about ourselves, we also create things about ourselves.   

The only way to truly find yourself?

Create yourself. 

What’s stopping you? 

Easier said than done. It’s not easy to create yourself, especially if you’re someone who may be having a creative block right now. It won’t happen overnight, either. Think of yourself as a work of art. Art takes time, and so do you. Simply, credit yourself for trying in the first place. By taking the time to invest in the right materials, supplies, and necessities, you’re bound to create something beautiful. 

We all have dreams. A dream job, partner, house, wardrobe, etc. Sure, some of those things may not be attainable in this current moment, but why let that stop you? It’s time to stop wishing and waiting. Everything that is yours, is within reach. You are simply a work of art. Become that blank canvas again. Use your true colors, and you’ll find a wide array of beautiful shades and tones to create yourself. What will you create? That’s for you to know, and us to find out. 

It all starts with you. How do you want to create yourself? Here’s how Diavian and Emilee did. Describe your dream wardrobe.

Is it bright? Colorful? Eclectic? Maybe you wish for an edgier look. Perhaps you like to keep it simple with a touch of class. Whatever your style is, own it. It’s yours. 

Diavian: An entire closet of 90s inspired clothing!! I love the color pallets and the vibe of it all. from the short skirts to the knee high boots; it’s oh so perfect. Clueless was my first ever look into the world of 90s fashion, and ever since, I have been in love.

What are the little things that make you happy?

Whether that be your hobbies, a compliment, your favorite flowers, or the sunset: It’s uniquely yours. By embarking on that joy, you’ll find a kaleidoscope of wonder that’s all for you, and only you.

Diavian: A cloudless, sunny sky. There’s nothing I adore more than being able to go outside with the sun shining down on my skin. On days like that, it seems like everyone’s happy.

Emilee: Small town thrift stores and interactions with kind strangers.

If you could live out a childhood dream of yours, what would it be?

Think about the dreams you had as a child. Did you want to be a superstar? You still can be. Whatever it is that you wish for, grab it. 

Diavian: Being a superstar! I knew, since I was young, that I was meant to take the world by storm. I'm working towards that goal. 

Emilee: My childhood dream was to see myself on TV! Still working on that one.

What’s perfect to you?

Perfect doesn’t exist, but we all have our fantasies. Just remember that society’s ‘perfect’ isn’t yours. Stop and smell the roses, put on your rose-colored lens, and romanticize life. 

Diavian: The planets. All of them are so beautiful and unique.

Emilee: God!

How would you create yourself?

Diavian: Honestly, I fake my confidence often. I’d love for my faux confidence to become real someday. I’m working on it. That's how I’m creating myself. 

Emilee: I create myself to be open to all opportunities. I try to overcome fear with bravery, so when I walk into a room, I belong there.
