Stranded

Resting directly above the crown chakra lays a protector of your highest state of being. Each strand is sculpted and naturally designed to be your crown. Hair is not only an integral part of identity, but it plays an important role in carrying years of history, culture, and lineage. The relationship you have with your hair is a powerful partnership and when nurtured it becomes your superpower.

One of the first things you notice when you look in the mirror is your hair. It plays a special role in the first understanding of confidence, or lack thereof. This awareness peaks at an early age, and sticks with you throughout all the eras in your life. Each journey, experience, and emotion is unique from the rest and may vary in intensity from person to person. The bond that is shared carries an array of emotions and feelings, hence the feeling of bliss after an amazing hair appointment, or the emotional toll it takes on you if you’re having a ‘bad hair day.’ Furthermore these feelings are embodied by the culture and subcultures we are a part of.

The trends and media consumed in the modern world play a big role in offering inspiration, ideas, and energy to our hair. The different hairstyles belonging to different cultures allow these groups to define and redefine their identity. Hair, just like other art forms, is constantly in a state of evolution encased in layers and complexities that shift from culture to culture.  How you style, color, cut, and shape your hair is completely up to you, but with so many influential factors it can be hard to not be intrigued by the endless variations of self-expression through hair. It may lead you to try something new, bold, or different. Through this self expression you uncover layers of identity, beauty, and empowerment within you that align with your most authentic self.

Just like fashion, hair styles can be trendy or timeless, influencing generation after generation. In this generation, we see less stigma about pushing the boundaries of experimenting with a radical style you’ve never tried, and turning fear into inspiration. This change can bring about a new level of distinction to your identity that clothes and shoes can’t, allowing your outer self to reflect what the inner being is thinking, feeling, craving, and desiring. The gift that hair gives challenges us to let go of fear, embrace change, and think beyond our most imaginative thoughts into a reality we can create, strand by strand.
